Holistic leadership coaching.

Working alongside leaders to support, coach and mentor through a bespoke, holistic programme.

As an experienced people leader, I bring warmth, EQ, and clear, down-to-earth guidance on how to give your best to your team and get the best from your team.

I work one-on-one with people leaders to equip them with new strategies and help problem-solve tricky leadership challenges. My specialty is helping you to connect with your team members so that you can be effective in your role as a leader.

We will work together to design a programme for you, which will include regular sessions and phone or email support.

About me.

Wendy is an experienced executive leader who excels at developing strong and positive team culture, getting the best from people and leading through change.

Wendy has been working in leadership roles for nearly 15 years and began her career at TVNZ and worked in a range of production, team leader and department manager roles.

In 2013, Wendy collaborated with NZ On Air and the Media Access Charitable Trust board to set up an independent not-for-profit organisation, Able, to provide media access services. Wendy served as Chief Executive of Able for nearly a decade, overseeing a significant expansion of the services during that time. The expansion included growing the funding, doubling the size of the team and managing Able through significant technological and industry change.

Wendy is a strategic thinker with a practical and pragmatic approach. In 2016, Wendy attended the University of Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme, gaining a game-changing new insight into leadership strategy. Wendy has also completed the Leadership Mindset Programme at the University of Auckland, along with short courses on governance, leadership, finance and strategy.

Wendy is a well regarded conference speaker and lecturer, presenting in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Wendy is a governance leader, serving as chair on the Basement Theatre board from 2018-2024, alongside other not-for-profit board roles. Wendy is a leadership coach and mentor, as well as a strategic consultant and facilitator in the areas of media, not-for-profit, accessibility and arts.

  • "I'm so grateful for Wendy’s mentorship, and credit much of my professional growth to her leadership. Over the year of working together, Wendy has motivated and inspired me to bring my best, and offers calm, pragmatic guidance in the everyday or in moments of crisis. She embodies a values-driven leadership style of empathy, clarity, and thoughtful support. She is highly strategic, supporting me to distil complex information and cut straight to the heart of the issue - all with kindness and humour! Wendy's leadership style and her ability to identify strengths and build connections make her an exceptional leadership coach – I’m so fortunate to have been mentored by her. Do it – you won’t look back!"

  • “Throughout my time working with Wendy – over a decade – I was inspired and motivated by her leadership. As my manager, she supported me, encouraged me, challenged me and ensured my professional growth and development just as much as she sought high performance and strong results. As the leader of our organisation, Wendy was able to keep us all connected and engaged with the vision through her integrity and authentic style: Wendy shows vulnerability, communicates transparently, knows what a team needs from a leader and knows how to get the best out of a team. I definitely encourage anyone wanting to enhance their leadership acumen to engage Wendy for astute, thoughtful assistance – and you’ll enjoy a laugh or two along the way!”

  • "I met Wendy in 2017 through First Foundation, which is a four-year programme aimed to support high school students into higher education and a meaningful career. As my First Foundation mentor, Wendy helped me overcome challenges and achieve my goals in my transition from high school to law school. Her optimistic energy and wealth of knowledge and life experience have been invaluable. 6 years later, I’m now in my final semester of law school with a graduate role lined up at a commercial law firm. This wouldn’t have been possible without Wendy’s guidance and genuine investment in my personal growth."
